Prabodh Chandra Goswami was a great person having all the qualities of a fine humanbeing. He was the classmate cum intimate friend of late Jyoti Basu.I was very impressed about his vast knowledge in all the subjects, modern thinking and his hospitality. His demise is a great loss.

Sjt Prabodh Chandra Goswami through his yogic sadhana could attain a unique status in life, he was beyond Kam, krodh, ahankar and had inner happiness in mind. As adopted by Rishi Muni of earlier days he also perhaps decided to have ichha mrityu, finalised the date to leave his body for the journey to the heaven. We pray to GOD, to keep his soul in peace & happy and send his AASHIRWAAD to all the family members and well wishers.

It was his goodness of heart that his world will miss the most. Such a kind man, so good in all ways, never a cross word to anybody, always so interested in all our lives, and so tolerant...Rest in Peace, Jetha, keep giving us your aashirwad from where you are now...we need it even more today...

According to Vedic science, birth is not the beginning and death is not the end of the living entities in the material universe. When we "die", only our physical body is destroyed. We, the "spirit" along with the astral body and the causal body are born again in another physical body, in accordance with our Karmic records stored in the causal body. The physical body is governed by the stringent laws of material nature. The body is prone to three inflictions -disease, old age and death under the laws of nature. No living entity in the universe be it an ant or an elephant or a Demi-god can avoid these three bodily disadvantages. Even the most powerful politicians, billionaires, Miss Universes, Hollywood super starts can’t defend their bodies from the onslaught of these three enemies. Accept the great yogis, nobody can say when his or her lease of life will come to an end or what is going to happen to him or her after an hour or so. Human beings are therefore puppets at the hands of Laws of nature which work in tandem with the Karmic Laws and sometime this combined force can become very cruel. Some diseases and deaths are occurred due to reaction of bad Karmas of previous births. Like the body, the material performances and achievements are also purely temporary in nature. When a person dies he can’t take with him the name, fame, status, wealth etc. which he earned after a lifelong struggle. Contrary to this, the spiritual achievement of a person whatever level it may be, is carried forward to his next life and he is bound to resume his spiritual practices at some point of time in his new life as per the Karmic Laws. This is what Bhagavad Gita and other Vedic scriptures have said. Therefore, everybody should endeavor to devote little time out of his or her busy daily schedule and invest some amount of material achievement and energy in spiritual/devotional practice.
Whenever I visited Jethpeha, I used to ask him many questions on astrology and spiritual science. His knowledge on mantra yoga especially on Gayatri sadhana was vast. He told me that there was a spiritual world beyond the material world which was much bigger in size than the material world. Those who realize the existence of the spiritual world through practice of Gyana yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Meditation, Mantra Yoga etc. go to this spiritual world after death and never returns to earth to take another birth. According to him, spiritual knowledge and practice is important for human beings as it takes care of mental and emotional well being at individual level and brings peace and harmony to the society which the material knowledge can't do. Human beings are not supposed to die like cats and dogs. The basic instincts of animals and human beings are the same. Animals eat, human beings also eat, animals sleep, human beings also sleep, animals procreates, human beings also procreates, animals defend themselves, human beings also defend themselves. However, in case of human beings, these acts are sophisticated. Then what makes a difference between human beings and animals? Animals do not practice spirituality or religion. Human beings have higher mental faculties and conscious levels. Their intellectual faculty helps them realize the existence of God. A human being who does not develop any interest in spirituality during his life time is nothing but an advance animal. Material knowledge is promoting advance animalism as its only objective is bodily care be it comfort or defense.
